Strawberries In Season

While drafting my blog post about Holton Farms last week, I realized - to my horror - that I didn’t have a single photo of fresh produce to go with my piece. Turns out, the last time I photographed something alive was on a pear-picking trip with mom in 2008.

I remedied the problem by stalking the stalls at the Union Square Greenmarket with my camera on Saturday. Jason bought two boxes brimming with strawberries, which he cut up and tossed in a salad. Then he made pork chops smothered in chipotle sauce. For a boyfriend, he is OK.

I have a friend who at one point thought she was allergic to strawberries, it was very sad. One day, she realized she wasn’t, and it was awesome. Now, I can share the strawberry pies that I eat with her. Amazing.
